As someone who has used myspace for years to promote the bands I played in, I have seen how easy this social networking thing is to do. What I haven't seen is how effective mass social networking actually is for marketing yourself or you wares to the public. As a photographer, I see social networking as a way to gain feedback about my pictures.
Of course, if most people do this as I do, then they probably add friends without really taking the time to go through their profiles or portfolios. There are friends I have on myspace that I've never even looked at. So far, the thing I've seen about Uber is that it is a much smaller community. I have taken the time to examine the people I've found, and I see much greater potential here for positive discourse. I hope that I'm right. I am a baby in photography and have much to learn. I hope that this web 2.0 is a start.
Oh yeah, here's the rest of my face on an old flyer we did for This Is Goodbye, my band.
Come visit my page sometime.

OH, btw... are you in Memphis? If so, we will have to plan a shoot sometime. ;)
